Mission Statement

The Chinese Language Teachers Association of California (CLTAC) is a nonpolitical, nonprofit educational and professional organization. The mission of CLTAC is to promote the study, teaching, and research of the Chinese language and culture on all educational levels; to provide a platform for Chinese instructors to share and exchange teaching experience, ideas and information; to serve as a source for professional development and lifelong teaching; to enhance the quality of Chinese language teaching at all levels; to provide a network of support service to Chinese language teachers; to enhance the awareness of the importance of the Chinese language and culture.

CLTAC was established in 1964. Its current membership comprises approximately 300 K-16 Chinese language education professionals in California. In addition to other professional activities, CLTAC organizes annually a Mandarin Speech Contest, a Spring Conference, and a Fall Workshop.
