with DoIE Chinese Language and Exchange Program at San Francisco State University 2020 Fall International Conference on Chinese Language Instruction Theme: Challenges and Opportunities of Chinese Language Instruction in the New Era The Chinese Language Teachers Association of California (CLTAC) is inviting submission of proposals for the 2020 Fall International Conference on Chinese Language Instruction. Due to ongoing developments of the pandemic, the conference will be held online on Zoom, Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020. The theme of this year’s conference will be “Challenges and Opportunities of Chinese Language Instruction in the New Era”. This year’s conference features a keynote speech in an interdisciplinary field related to language instruction and learning such as artificial intelligence, and panel discussions addressing critical issues and considerations related to the theme of the conference. The Organizing Committee is calling for submissions for 15-minute individual presentations (12 minutes presentation + 3 minutes Q&A) and 45-minute panel discussions. We welcome proposals in all areas of teaching and learning Chinese and culture at multiple levels and in different settings, including, but not limited to, (1) linguistic study and pedagogical grammar, (2) classroom teaching practices and online classroom management, (3) teaching culture, (4) technology application in online teaching, (5) development of online teaching and learning materials, (6) second language acquisition, (7) articulation of language instruction, and (8) proficiency and literacy assessment and teaching effectiveness evaluation.
